Meet the Coaches

Carrie Keil, keilsk8@aol.com

Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Carrie attended Pioneer High School, MSU and the University of Michigan. She began her professional coaching career while completing her degrees at the University of Michigan. Carrie coached many local AAAHA house and travel teams, and accepted the position of Skating Coach for the University of Michigan Men’s Hockey Team under current head coach, Red Berenson. As time went on, Carrie found herself working with a number of competitive youth teams in the southeastern Michigan area, and began training players on a private basis as well.

Although Carrie spends the majority of her time training players in private and semi-private situations, she has recently joined with former Michigan Wolverine Dave Debol to create “Hockey Masters”. Hockey Masters was created to offer full, comprehensive, skill development programs to all age groups -- from Preschoolers and Mini-Mites, through College Division I players and Adults.

Carrie currently resides in Ann Arbor and runs the majority of Hockey Masters' programs at the Arctic Coliseum in Chelsea, Michigan. She has 3 daughters, all of whom are competitive skaters and players.

Carrie's credentials include:

  • Current USA NTDP Skating Coach, U-17 and U-18 programs
  • Former OHL’s Saginaw Spirit Skating Coach
  • Former University of Michigan Hockey Team Skating Coach
  • Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology, University of Michigan
  • 25 years coaching experience

Dave Debol

Dave starred for Notre Dame High School where he won the state title in 1973. From there, he played at the University of Michigan where, as a sophomore, he set the NCAA record for fastest hat trick against Michigan Tech, which still stands at 59 seconds. He led the team to the 1977 NCAA title game and set Michigan’s single season scoring record. Following his collegiate career, he went on to play six years of professional hockey including a stint with the Hartford Whalers.

Dave has coached high school hockey since 1999, beginning as Dexter High School head coach. Now he's entering his third season as U of M Dearborn Club Hockey Head Coach. The team finished 6th nationally in the ACHA rankings in his inaugural 2004/2005 coaching season.

Dave skates with the Red Wing alumni team. He is married and lives in Saline with his son and daughter, both, of course, hockey players.
